PLAY THERAPIST REQUIRED

To work as part of the Playtime Team to meet the aims and
objectives of the organisation by providing a therapeutic service to children and young people in Northamptonshire.

This position is full time and comprises of working four days at the Play Centre in Roade and working one day per week at the office to cover admin, training and regular Clinical Supervision.

Salary: £20,157.10 - £27,500 per annum

  1. Client base of sixteen clients per week
  2. Ongoing Staff Development and Training provided
  3. Nine weeks holiday per year (two weeks at Christmas, two at Easter and five during Summer break)

A qualification in Play Therapy, Drama or Art Therapy is essential

We are proud to announce that the Playtime Gala Dinner, held at the Towcester Racecourse on Tuesday 10 October 2006, was a tremendous success.

Playtime is very pleased to announce that Earl Spencer has accepted an invitation to become Patron of the charity. The staff and trustees were delighted with Earl Spencer's appointment which is a positive step forward for the charity.

Following his appointment, Earl Spencer said, "Playtime tackles difficult but very important issues, for the benefit of vulnerable children across Northamptonshire. It is an honour to become the CharityÍs Patron, and I look forward to assisting it in its crucial work.î



Charity Founder, Mary Gray, said "I am delighted to have Earl Spencer's support for Playtime and the good work we are doing. Earl Spencer's help will increase our profile and assist us in helping more children across the county and their families as well as informing the general public about our work." Playtime works across schools in Northamptonshire including Earl Spencer Primary School in Northampton.

 


Barclaycard Business helping Playtime!

We are proud to announce that Barclaycard Business, ePDQ Support team in Northampton, have made Playtime their nominated Charity for the year 2006. They have offered help with fund-raising, manpower and also promotional help for our charity.

This is a tremendous accolade for us, and already we have received the sum of £900 from the team raised through a promotional day. Also, Billingbrook Special School, in association with Barclaycard, held a sponsored swim to raise money for Playtime.

We are all extremely grateful to the team at Barclaycard for their support, and to the children at Billingbrook for their kind efforts. Much appreciated!



Co-operative Group Social Goals Strategy Unit grant

Playtime was delighted to receive a grant for £3000 from the Co-operative Group Social Goals Strategy Unit to buy DVD camcorders to support the work of the charity. These recorders will give Playtime the opportunity to gain accreditation from the Theraplay Institute in the United States with the long-term aim that University College Northampton can provide an MA course in Therapeutic Play for our therapists.
